Getting started
Drag a video onto the Minimo window (or the menu bar icon), choose a target size or a quality preset, and click Compress. Supported input formats are MP4, MOV and M4V. The result is a new file — your original is never changed.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the compressed file go?
By default, next to your original as name-minimo.mp4. If that location can’t be written to (for example an external disk or iCloud folder), Minimo asks you to pick a folder and remembers it as your default output folder in Settings.
Does compressing ruin HDR video?
No. With the HEVC codec, Minimo preserves HDR color end to end. If you switch to H.264 for maximum compatibility, it converts to standard (SDR) color cleanly — you’ll see a note when that will happen.
Which is better, HEVC or H.264?
HEVC produces smaller files at the same quality and keeps HDR, and it plays on modern Apple devices and most current platforms. Choose H.264 when you need the widest possible compatibility (older devices, some upload tools).
What is the free daily limit?
The free version compresses up to 3 videos per day, with no watermark and every quality mode unlocked. The count resets at midnight. Minimo Pro is a one-time $19.99 purchase that removes the limit and unlocks batch queues.
How do I restore my Pro purchase?
Tap Restore Purchases on the Go Pro screen (or in Settings → License) while signed in to the same Apple Account you used to buy it. Your Pro upgrade works across your Macs signed in to that account.
Can I compress a whole folder at once?
Yes, with Minimo Pro. Drop a folder or select multiple files and Minimo queues them, compressing one after another. The free version handles one file at a time.
My target size can’t be reached — what happened?
Very small targets on long or high-resolution videos can fall below what looks good. Minimo warns you and keeps quality as high as the target allows rather than producing a blurry mess. Try a slightly larger target if you need more detail.
Do my videos get uploaded anywhere?
Never. All compression runs on your Mac. Minimo has no servers, no analytics, and no account. See the privacy policy for details.
Still stuck?
Email yaveez.dev@gmail.com with your macOS version and a short description of what happened. If it’s about a specific video, letting us know its format, resolution and length helps us reproduce it.
